12 to Midnight

The best way to describe the 12-to-Midnight campaign would be to quote the website of the campaign setting's creators:

The Pinebox campaign setting focuses on the horrific and supernatural elements that lay hidden in our modern world. In this setting, supernatural entities exist but are hidden and are considered myths, legends or stories by a majority of humanity. Heroes (or Investigators) seek out the truth and often have the unenviable task of combating the evil horrors they uncover. Pinebox reflects the modern (albeit rural) world we live in, but slightly askew. Global conspiracies, hidden secret societies, and paranormal activities are real, as some among us today would argue. Imagine if the stories of hauntings, vampires, or witches were true.

The premise of the campaign is that a bunch of paranormal investigators found working in New York was becoming difficult. Research grants were drying up and they had been unable to find concrete evidence of the existence of ghosts. When the sister of one of the group requests their aid with a haunting, the group packs their bags and uproots to Texas. Here they find that the paranormal is easier to find. But is this a good thing...

The campaign is very X-Files in style with a mixture of investigations and combat. I try hard for the atmosphere of a small town in Texas where the unusual is known to happen the residents for the most put up with it. After all, doesn't everything have a rational explanation.
